Battery currently is working, but because it is old, I strongly recommend You to buy a new battery or to have a second official battery as back-up.
Camera is described by the manufacturer as 'waterproof', but I do not recommend you to put it underwater.
In case you encounter corrosion in internal battery contacts, I do not recommend to use vinegar to clean them, just scratch em a bit with sandpaper. You can put a small piece of sandpaper in a pen and put it inside
