Orbea variegata, Stapelia variegata belongs to the Ascleps family and is a very popular houseplant.
Very easy to care for and requires very little water.
Flowering time is between May and September.
We recommend a pot with a diameter of 20 cm so that the plant has enough space to grow.

Propagation: seeds/cuttings
Pretreatment: 0
Sowing time: all year > Spring preferred
Sowing depth: only lightly cover with substrate
Sowing substrate: Coconut or potting soil + sand or perlite
Sowing temperature: approx. 18-21°C
Sowing location: bright + keep constantly slightly moist, not wet
Germination time: approx. 3-6 weeks
Watering: water regularly during the growth period + protect the root ball from continuous rain
Fertilizer: Monthly 0.2% phosphate-rich fertilizer or long-term fertilizer
Pests: spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: cactus or unit soil + 1/3 gravel + 1/3 sand or perlite
Further culture: light at approx. 20ºC + keep constantly slightly moist + low humidity
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 10-15°C and only water at larger intervals and in small quantities so that the shoots do not shrivel up. Keep absolutely dry during cooler winter storage.
