Here is a pretty, Early American glass spoon holder. It is 5 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide. This is shown in Hallock's book on the Central Glass Company, as their No. 145, named O'Hara. The pattern is also known as Loop. Central Glass was in operation from 1863 to 1893. Central joined the U. S. Glass Combine in 1891 as Factory O. The factory was closed in 1893. Although this spooner is shown in the book, some EAPG experts say that they are not certain that this is a Central Glass product. It is non-flint glass.
This antique spoon holder looks very nice, but is not in perfect condition. There is roughness on four of the points between the tops of the loops, caused by several tiny chips on each. Most are minuscule. The largest being 1/8 inch wide; the rest are smaller. No other damage is found, and wear from age seems to be very light. It weighs nearly 10 ounces before packing for shipping, so will ship in the 1-2 pound rate. Local delivery is always available for free to a mutually agreed upon meeting place.
