A fascinating find and even more interesting to research. Possibly attributed to Herve Leger, this multi ethnic statement piece seems to be made from recent materials as our Ed from different cultures. The scarab is generally considered (although not always) Egyptian while the turquoise beading is likely more recently machine made as is the silver and Rhodonite beads. The leather pouch could come from most anywhere and the precious metal clay (as we were informed) that the scarab and beading sits on adds yet another layer to this complicated piece.
After consulting with other experts in Ethnic Design, it is widely believed this is a more recent designer piece using multi cultural elements to create a one of a kind necklace with a pouch to carry coins, credit cards or paper money or identification.
Roughly 21 inches in length, it’s definitely unique. The PMC is signed on the back “Leger” which is all we have to go on.
