This beautiful reproduction print is entitled, Bison in Winter, by Bavarian artist Franz Marc in 1913.  He enjoyed painting nature and animals in vibrant shades and abstract forms.

Franz Moritz Wilhelm Marc was born in Bavaria, Germany in February 1880.  He studied many of the great artists in Paris, and developed a strong interest in the work of Vincent van Gogh. And Marc was also a leading artist in the German Impressionism era at the start of the 20th century.
