• Hawkes (definately Hawkes blank, and likely Hawkes cut)
• Shape 700
• Motifs: Splite diamonds with strawberry diamonds, cross cut diamonds and fans. Large hobstar center
• Crystal; Clear
• Antique American Brilliant Period (ABP) Cut Glass c. late 1800's to early 1900's
• Measurements: 9" rim, 9 3/8" outer diameter and 3 3/4" high
• Weight, prepackaged: 5 lbs 7.9 oz
• Condition: The bowl is free of chips, cracks and fleabites, except one small fleabite on the inner rim (it actually looks like a minor cutting flaw). The exterior cuts are free of fleabites. The bottom interior has some minor scratches from use and storage, none visible without close inspection. The bottom has light shelf wear as expected. The cuts are well planned and beautifully executed. The glass is crystal clear with amazing clarity, superb resonance and a light green glow under UV light. There are no notable flaws in the glass. The shape can be found throughout Hawkes ABP era catalogs, however I've not found a matching cut and the piece is not signed, leaving room for doubt on the cutting house.
