Hippo Golf is a manufacturer of golf clubs and other equipment, and the company was founded in 1991. Hippo started producing clubs under the umbrella of Howson Sports before taking Hippo in its own direction.
Since the mid-nineties, Hippo has been a prominent golf brand and has even featured on the PGA Tour, with players including John Daly and Ian Woosnam famously using Hippo irons when competing at the top level of the game.
Although the brand seems to have fallen by the wayside a little in recent years, it’s still very much in business, and Hippo Golf still manufactures golf clubs and accessories, which they predominantly sell through their online store.
Today, Hippo Golf is based in the UK and ships internationally. So, while it might not be the most prevalent brand in golf anymore, Hippo clubs are still worth considering if you’re hoping to add some affordable and high-quality irons to your bag.
Hippo Golf is very much still in business. There’s no doubt that the brand was at its height of popularity in the mid-nineties when it grew from humble beginnings and soon became one of the most popular brands with recreational golfers.
Since then, the market has been dominated by the likes of TaylorMade, Callaway, and PING, and Hippo Golf has not been able to maintain the same level of popularity as it once did.
This has led many people to think that Hippo is no longer in business, or at least that the brand has significantly reduced its operations. But in reality, you can still buy a range of quality irons and accessories from Hippo, and their online store has an impressive range of stock.
So, if you’re looking for new Hippo golf clubs today, you can still find them! And while the brand might not be as popular as it was during its nineties heyday, you can still buy from Hippo safe in the knowledge that you’re receiving good value for money.
