Black & White Leaning Tower of Pisa Illustration Art Print
This poster is a black and white illustration by George Ledwall Taylor of the Pisa Bell Tower, in Italy.
The medieval tower is part of the Pisa Cathedral complex and leans at a 4-degree angle due to unstable foundations. Construction on this tower started in the 12th century, but due to problems with its foundations, it wasn't finished until two centuries later.
Inside this interesting building are two spiral staircases, and 294 steps take you to the seven bells suspended in the Bell Tower. The largest weighs 8,000 lbs (3,600 kg), and they no longer ring as the vibration is making the tower move.
