Our District 5830 Cookbook is the result of my article, "Ouida's Notes" in this year's newsletter, District 5830's Tri-State Press. 

Who likes to eat more than Rotarians, and you have certainly fed us in grand style this year. 

This collection of almost 300 recipes is dedicated with much love and respect to all our Rotarian families and friends who entrusted me with favorite recipes, special stories and very personal how many instructions. 

Do realize just you disclaimers we put in our recipes? 

I have to confess to being especially good at it - it's the teacher and perfectionist in me - I just can't help it! 

What fun it has been receiving and reading each recipe! 

Some are very explanatory leaving nothing to question, some are very brief taking for granted that there are no questions, and many, like mine showed evidence that the cook had questions and challenges just trying to write a favorite recipe that is probably never made the That uniqueness is same way two times in a row. 

Definitely part of the charm in a book like this. 

My apologies now for errors; hopefully most everything is correct. 

Even though the form had to be changed sometimes for uniformity and printing purposes, an honest effort was made to be accurate and to print your recipes exactly as they were written. 

By the way, I loved the hand-written ones on your beautiful cards.

There has been very little time this year for cooking in the Henson kitchen, but I can assure you that I will make your favorite dishes. 

For me cooking is almost as much fun as eating and the same holds true for DG John - well, maybe eating is a bit more fun, but then I guess you can tell! 

Friendships and memories from this 2006-2007 Rotary year will be cherished forever.
