Spence Douthit and his family move to the city in the hopes of making a decent living working in the gunpowder factory. But the factory closes, and Spence finds himself jobless and struggling to make ends meet in Pobre Chico, a neighborhood full of emigrants and the underprivileged.
Book is in acceptable condition. General shelf and corner wear. A few white marks on the front and back cover. Some fraying along the cover the edges. The gloss is peeling. "30" written in pen on the back cover. Previous owner signed the inside front cover and the the margin of the first page. A solid reading copy.
