Daybreak Medical Romance Paperback Book by Frank G. Slaughter Perma Books 1959

Daybreak is a story that revolves around the crucial necessity driving a young doctor to seek a new treatment for schizophrenia before a lovely young patient was doomed to undergo a frontal lobotomy -- a brain operation that just might reduce her to a kind of dehumanized zombie.

It is also an engrossing account of a real twentieth century medical miracle -- the pioneering treatment of “hopeless insanity” through use of the drug, “Rauwolfia”, made from the Indian snakeroot plant, a miracle treatment that can lead to cure of the mentally ill.

Book is in acceptable condition. General shelf and corner wear. Cover fraying along the edges. Light staining on interior and exterior. Some wear at the top and bottom of spine (see photo #3). A solid reading copy. Please see photos for details, and let me know if you have any questions.
