REAL PIECE OF FLOWN SPACE SHUTTLE COLUMBIA PART NASA RELIC INCLUDES NASA DOCUMENTARY PROOF This relic was part of the ORIGINAL HEAT SHIELD CLOSEOUT RING . Thorough research enclosed shows that the original aft part, of which this is a fragment, was installed on Columbia Shuttle in May 1978. The max service life of this part was 11 flights up to STS-40. This part fragment, based on documents, flew on the first 5 flights of OV-102 (Columbia) orbiter. Hence this part was EXPOSED TO SPACE FOR 398 Earth orbits and 588 hours total time ( nasa.gov). It was attached the the orbiters Aft bulkhead in conjunction with the engine heat shield . No doubt referenced in the Federal investigation of Columbia’s Ill fated disaster which killed the entire crew. This fragment measures appx. .5x.5x.04”. It is displayed in a roller case. YOU CAN EASILY REMOVE IT AND SEE AND TOUCH THE SURFACE WHICH WAS EXPOSED TO SPACE AND LAUNCH EXHAUST. It is made of Inconel superalloy. This fragment was obtained from the larger piece using special cutting tools. It is legal to own discarded NASA ARTIFACT from the early space program and not crash debris NO MORE THAN 100 of these exist. 5 pages of original NASA DOCUMENTATION included.
