The Maya Chontal Indians of Acalan-Tixchel, by France V. Scholes & Ralph L. Roys.

Publication 560 from the Carnegie Institute of Washington, D. C. 1948.

This is an absolutely fascinating study of the native peoples of this region. Complete with historic fold-out maps and documents, this rare book is retired from the famous Riggs Memorial Library of Georgetown University, and bears the stamps of that period (see photos). There is some staining and wear on the covers, as this was an often used book, but within it has been preserved very well. We wouldn't sell if it wasn't necessary, and we want to see this treasure end up in a safe place.
