This is a great looking and somewhat rare to find “Orienta” model Ansonia Clock Co. clock in bronze, made circa 1881. It has the original signed Ansonia Clock Co. 8 Day time & strike movement with open escapement that is in very good condition. It runs well and gongs properly. This clock counts each hour on an antique cathedral style gong and announces each half hour with a single toll.
*Notice the open escapement feature on this clock. You can actually see the escape wheel and verge operating in the dial while the clock runs!*
The heavy solid brass bezel and dial assembly is a nice one. It has a signed porcelain dial that is in very nice condition and the original beveled edge glass crystal and original steel hands.
