This is a S. Kirk & Son, Inc. (Steiff) Repousse sterling silver Lettuce Serving Fork marked "Sterling". The mark indicates a date between 1924 and 1932. The sterling was inherited over 40 years ago from an elderly couple that had inherited it themselves. It is in wonderful condition having been kept in a silver chest. The antique Kirk serving fork is almost 100 years old with light wear. (See photos) The vintage sterling flatware measures a little under 8 7/8" long.

Repousse silver by S. Kirk and Son, Co. (aka Kirk Stieff), the oldest silverware pattern produced inthe United States, debuted in 1828 as Hollow ware and as Flatware in1846. The pattern is ornately elegant with an intricate floral design. This piece of Sterling Silver Repousse is marked S. Kirk and Son, Inc. sterling on the back.
