This is a vintage, O-Cedar bottle, cork-topped (cork is missing) with embossing on the bottom. The embossing reads "O-Cedar - Made in USA". Channell Chemical Co of Chicago, IL began producing O'Cedar wood polish and floor mops in 1906. This style of bottle is typical of the time period when hand blown bottles were replaced with machine made ones. Best estimate on a date for this bottle is between 1906 and the 1920s. My father, an avid bottle digger, discovered this bottle in the ruins of an old homestead in Virginia over 40 years ago. The vintage household bottle is in great shape, free from breaks or cracks. There are age related bubbles in the class. Clarity is nice for a dug bottle although there is staining in the bottom. The old bottle measures about 8" x 3" x 1.75".
