As a member of the "little girl" group of hybrid magnolias. The Jane Magnolia was developed to be a lovely yet hardy shrub. Tulip shaped blooms arrive late in the spring making sure to avoid frost damage and bring a splash of color with them. The flowers are reddish purple on the outside with white coloring on the inside.
- This shrub grows at a slow rate with height increases of less than 12" per year.
- It is best used as an accent boarder or specimen plant.
- Full sun is the ideal condition for this shrub meaning it should get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day.
- The Jane Magnolia grows in acidic loamy rich well drained soil.
- Hardy in zones 4-7 widely adaptable to any soil.
