Product Description

From the masterminds of producers Alon Cohen (Matisyahu) and Rea Mochiach (David Byrne) comes a collection of ambient, electronic music with Yom Kippur melodies of the Sephadic Jews that have been chanted for 2000 years!
Forgiveness was conceived and created in the early 1990's in NYC, by Israeli artists Alon Cohen and Rea Mochiach. The album blends the ancient Yom Kippur prayers of the Sephardic Jews and riveting soundscapes of electronic dance and ambient music. These same prayers have been chanted for 2000 years. The voices are culled from Jerusalem's finest cantors and the lush, dynamic sounds created by Alon and Rea are at different points breathtaking, beautiful, powerful and hypnotic. They manage to truly capture the intensity of the sacred holy-day, and the awe it instills in the penitent.
