For your consideration, here is a Vintage Dahl’s Electric Service Inc. Advertising Retractable Tape Measure, from Longview, Washington, made in the USA.  It looks to be a 6 foot one.  I did not extend the tape out all the way.  It has a little wear on it.  It extends and retracts fine.  It measures 2 inches at the widest by 1 ¾ inches tall.
