Here is a Gardner Mason mystery book that should be in a great collection.

A book that would normally be another common Gardner mystery selling for a few dollars -!but for the fact that it states on a printed slip of paper tipped into this book with a signature of the printer - that this book was the first book printed.

It could only have come from the books Gardner had in his Temecula office after his wife’s death. This is exactly where I obtained it among the other unsold books he had in reserve, that is, first edition Mason mystery books that were not sold to others. This book was the copy that had this printed and signed slip in it.

This item is now being relinquished from the Gardner Museum we once had in Ventura because incredibly as it seemed, because of lack of interest in such a thing!
