These set of books are in a slip case. The slip case shows some wear and is torn on the left front edge and the top right edge. The left top edge and the bottom right edge has been taped.
Volume 1 is discolored on the spine and also the front and back end papers. There is a tear at the spine between the frontispiece and the title page. The pages are intact. The top page ends are faded by the spine. The bottom page ends are scuffed. Pages are clean, no visible markings or writings.
Volume 2 is also discolored on the spine and also the front and back end papers. There is a small tear at the spine between the frontispiece and the title page and a tear at the hinge in the back. Page 1117 has creases. Page 1119/1120 has a 4 inch tear across from the page end to the middle of the page. The top page ends are faded by the spine. The bottom page ends are scuffed. While fanning through the book, one visible underlining was found on page 749.
