About 3m Cover proofs: It is a cover proof that is created during the production process for the comic, and used internally by the comic company. They are composed of 4 different acetate color sheets that when put together form the final cover image. Markers notes on the sheets are from the editors to indicated changes to the cover or the approval of it. The 4 Sheets sheets are very much like that of an Animation Cell and are called "CMYK" We Have the Black layer or "K" Next is the Blue layer, also known as Cyan Or "C". Next is the Red layer, also known as Magenta Or "M". Then we have the final layer Yellow Or "Y". The cell layers are stacked one on top of another and affixed together onto a white sheet. The white sheet or board. These are NOT mass-produced, only one is ever created. There is truly a one of a kind item, Many time after the book is published these are tossed out, So not many of them are around. Also, these go through so many hands for approval there are markers, Pencil or pen marks on it as well as notes, many types of tape and sometimes scratch marks, dust and some might even be dirty or stain so they are sold "as is"
In some cases there might even be more than one Black Plate "K" This is because the book might be sold in newsstands, comic shops (Direct Edition) and other stores, because of this, there are different barcodes and a black plate is needed for each, I'll post that info if the cover has it.
Here is your chance to own a truly one of a kind item as well as important processes in creating a comic book. item will be shipped flat. I'm willing to take serious best offers. Any questions please ask, Good luck bidding.
Great gift for any Comic Collector!
