This is The Old Hokum Bucket by Ernest Rogers, published in 1949 by the author. This is a compilation of his humorous and insightful columns from the Atlanta Journal. It is signed and inscribed to Celestia "Lessie" Bailey Smithgall, co-founder of the Gainesville Times and a noted philanthropist. 

Also included is a letter from Rogers to Smithgall on Atlanta Journal letterhead, dated Nov. 30. 1949.

Ernest Rogers, author and journalist, was a features writer at the Atlanta Journal. He was also a pioneer radio broadcaster with WSB radio.

Celestia "Lessie" Bailey Smithgall, co-founder of The Gainesville Times with her husband Charles, was widely known for her philanthropy and devotion to the arts.
