REDISCOVERING AMERICA - mixed media collage 3” x 3” centered on 7.5” x 7.5” 300# watercolor paper with deckled edges. Not only do butterflies go through a chrysalis stage, but we are in a constant state of discovery and exploration. How wonderful to spread our wings to taste the sweet nectar of scenic America. Gold and copper foil traces a butterfly’s trail. The focus of my work has been creating diminutive mixed media collages 3” x 3” centered on 7.5” x 7.5” 300# watercolor paper with deckled edges. They exhibit a whimsical or nostalgic focus, using acrylic paints, copper/ gold/ silver foils, found images, sheet music, dried natural materials, postage stamps, feathers, street detritus, magazine photographs, handmade paper, tissue and variety papers, Japanese paste papers, and watercolor papers.
