Native American Style MAIDEN STICK CARRIER GOURD FIGURE, 10" x 9", Robert Rivera Handmade by gourd art specialist Robert Rivera, this wonderful figure with her bundle of sticks shows the Native American women at work. This woman has gathered her wood for the fire that will keep them warm and that she can cook food over. This unique piece was created from a gourd and is dressed in beautiful fabric and trimmed with a tan deerskin scarf. Her earrings are Santo Domingo style with inlaid turquoise and shell. A brass concho and leather strand completes her outfit. The figure is approx 10" tall and 9" wide, including the sticks. Absolutely adorable and highly collectible! * Robert Rivera is an internationally recognized master gourd artist of Apache, French and Spanish heritage. He has been crafting his artistic gourd art creations since 1979. He was originally employed as a welder at the Los Alamos Laboratory of NM, but was unhappy at his job. One day, on a vacation trip in the Southwest, he happened upon a table of strange but beautifully painted gourds. He inquired about them from the owners and have been fascinated with them ever since. He expresses his artistic talent through this medium, drawing inspiration from Native American and Southwestern themes, and has built an international audience as well as many collectors of his art. * (We would be happy to consider reasonable offers or quote a package price if you purchase two or more Gourd Art dolls.
