United States T23E3 medium tank prototype
The T23 was a derivative of the T22 with the same hull, same turret, same suspension and drivetrain. The main difference was that the T23 project tested modern and alternative transmissions which were the trademark of this experimental series. The T23E3 variant , which had torsion bar suspension was completed and tried, it showed this suspension reduced the ground pressure by 20% compared to the T23. It was developed by Chrysler, had six doubled road wheels on each side, each connected to an individual torsion bar suspension and 19 inch track shoes. The first and last two road wheels were equipped with additional shock absorbers. It had the same turret and was similarly armed as the 76mm gun armed Sherman tanks. The T23E3 prototype was sent to Detroit Arsenal on August 29, 1944, and then sent for testing at Fort Knox. Despite the tests being a success, no production was initiated but it led to the development of the T26E3 later designed as M26 Pershing.
This model is 3D printed and meant to be an economical alternative to wargamers wanting to expand their armies, it can also be used to build dioramas.
This model is made in five parts, turret, hull top, hull bottom and tracks. The model will be sent with support material still attached for better safety during transport, cutting and cleaning by the buyer will be needed before assembly. The model is printed using PLA and gluing is needed, if adding accessories to it superglue type glue will be required or other epoxy glue.
The pictures are from one sample model and some painted shots, the models are similar in grade of detail after print cleaning. The model is dispatched in a postal cardboard box with protective material inside for better safety.
