Founded in 1862 at the request of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma. The cathedral cornerstone was laid in 1867 by Kamehameh6, V The finished structure, dedicated in 1958, with its Great West Window and Fountain, is Honolulu's only example of early French Gothic architecture and is rich in act, history and Hawaiiana.
