56'' Thick Climbing Stick for XL Hand, Mostly Straight, 450lbs Max Wt, Bariatric Burly Jo Staff, Finished Diamond Willow, Handcrafted MN USA

This heavy duty diamond willow wood walking stick can hold a lot of weight__whether one is just a little overweight or severely obese, you can count on this sturdy hiking staff.

GIRTH: Hand grip girth is best for a XLg to XXXL*** ADULT HAND (determined by what size work or winter glove you wear), as it is now. HOWEVER, we can often make it a bit thinner so it fits your hand better by sanding it down a bit, if you need us to, at no charge.

Top is super strong, smooth and comfortable. There are diamonds on the side that don't impede, but rather the indents make great finger grips and hand guides.

HAS A FEW CURVES, MOSTLY STRAIGHT: This walking staff has a few curves, making it extra intriguing, but this stick is unusually (for our diamond willow sticks) straight for the most part and works great.

NATURAL MARKINGS

No stains, paints or colors added__just fives coats of clear poly finish. The natural colors are spectacular, looking so much better in person than I'm able to capture with photos.

DIAMONDS:

Covered with an exceptional array of diamonds, with all sorts of wonderful twisting curves and a variety of tan, caramel, dark brown and reddish brown colors.

A very unique piece with great character.

~~~ Crafted with blood (mosquito juice), sweat and tears of love. ~~~
The hiking stick in the first few photos is the one you will get.
Great for hiking or camping trips, as well as every day use to help you get around, taking pressure off your knees, hips, etc.. Make a great substitute for a walking cane, too.
This walking staff is a OOAK (one of a kind) item made from native northern Minnesota diamond willow tree, and handcrafted by me, a local, experienced artisan.
__ Sustainably harvested in northern MN.
__ Main bark removed by hand.
__ Dried/cured for several months, naturally by air
__ Meticulously sanded.
__ Given 5 coats of clear polyurethane.
__ Comes with new black rubber protector boot.
I use a walking cane DAILY (or hiking staff for woods trompsing), and have had the same hiking staff and cane for several years, and I take pride in making sure you get a beautiful, strong and sturdy walking staff to last for many years!
WE CAN SHORTEN, at no charge. We'll happily cut it down for you. Just let us know the length you want. Measure twice and we'll cut once (then sand and coat with clear poly).
SIZE GUIDE: For FLAT terrain, or rolling hills and groomed trails, a walking staff should be about 4-6" above the elbow, or a few inches below the shoulder. For HILLY terrain, a stick that's shoulder height or even a few inches above the shoulder is often preferred to help when descending.
FYI: Man in photos holding this staff is 5'9''.
ABOUT MAX WEIGHT: 450 lbs.
___________________________________
This could probably hold more weight, but I'm just guessing at wt. limit. I'm "only" 200 lbs. and test each stick just by trying to bend it to make sure it's sturdy.
DISCLAIMER: Since this is wood, and we're not a factory, I make no guarantees about the future condition of this walking stick, but CAN GUARANTEE it was strong without any large cracks when I harvested, cured, coated, listed, and packed it for shipping after it sells, inspecting it at each step along the way. However, PLEASE INSPECT ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT before each use to make sure no cracks or weaknesses have developed over time. Stay safe!
