This is a an unusual primitive piece of metal ware. It appears to me to have been expertly made in the 1960s of a fairly heavy gauge yellow sheet metal (judging by the color of the bottom as shown in the last picture) but left to discolor for many years.

It appears that the hands may have been shaped to hold a small taper originally, but one is bent now and cannot be straightened just using fingers. One of the wings is also bent.

CONDITION: The precise shaping and soldering have, for the most part, lasted, but the surface is very discolored to a dull brown with some water spots on the front. There is a hole at the top of the head with a strip of solder nearby. This may have originally been a halo or some kind of head covering.
SIZE: This piece is 6" tall. The base diameter is 2 5/8".

BACKGROUND: This is one of a number of things I recently purchased from a neighbor. She said a friend had given it to her many years ago.
