A very rare Quadrophonic phono 8 track receiver in extremely nice cosmetic condition, the Panasonic SD-209! I spent quite a bit of time researching this one but I cannot find even one for sale out there anywhere. This does have a few small issues which should be a very easy fix for those of you who know electronics, let's go thru it...Receiver works fine am & fm and the record player I opened up and cleaned out all the hardened grease and got it all working perfectly and of course re-greased so all with record player is fine! The 8 track player will need a new belt I put on a nice quality rubber band to test it and it worked perfectly but then later the track changer quite working, my knowledge on that area is rather limited, I cannot figure out what went wrong but only cause I know nothing about it, I did by the way remove the rubber band after testing it! I also have cleaned the capstan and the tape head. Here's the last part, when I hooked up speakers one channel had no sound, I have some quadrophonic tapes so I tested the quad on it and both of those extra channels worked but then a few days later I was retesting everything again and taking notes and then only one of the quad channels worked so at the moment 1 channel of the first 2 speakers work and 1 of the other 2 works, I know pretty much nothing about the actual 'electronics' so I have no idea, would that be a blown capacitor?? I know you guys who work on these things already know what the fix is! In summary: needs belt, needs track changer fixed and then the 2 channels, everything else is fine and the cosmetic condition is beautiful, even the dust cover is great, no cracks or scratches and I package these very well for shipping to guard against damage and insure them. Now this being an item that is likely about 50 years bold, I cannot guarantee anything so all vintage electronics are sold AS IS
