Description

Ideal for green horses, the JP Korsteel Stainless Steel French Link Eggbutt Snaffle Bit promotes soft contact between horse and rider.  This is a well maintained pre owned bit with light surface wear from use.  This mild bit is gentle on the bars and is designed to prevent unnecessary pinching.  John Patterson's unique curve bar design provides the best comfort by encouraging relaxation and salivation to enhance performance and maximize communication between horse and rider. The traditional Eggbutt cheek piece is popular among nearly all English disciplines and has it's place in Western training and competition as well. The KorsteelĀ® brand offers the finest hand-polished stainless steel for maximum luster and brilliance and classic cast construction for precise balance and performance.

A very mild bit, the Eggbutt Snaffle is designed wide enough to be gentle on the bars and will not pinch the horse's mouth.  The classic three-piece French Link mouthpiece prevents the "nutcracker-like" action on the horse's tongue, and can work well with horses who dislike single jointed snaffles.  The eggbutt cheeks do not create any extra poll pressure, and the fixed rings allow for consistent contact between the rider and the horse.

The mouthpiece measures 5 inches wide by 1/2 inch in diameter with 3 inch diameter eggbutt rings, the cheek pieces are 2-3/4 inches wide by 3-1/4 inch tall.  Unlike a standard jointed snaffle's nearly straight mouthpiece, JP bits have a curved shape that eliminates the interference that conventional bits can cause.  All JP bits feature curved bars that prevent the bit from hitting the roof of the horse's mouth and eliminate the nutcracker action that can pinch a horse's tongue.  Developed in conjunction with the world-renowned trainer and jockey John Patterson, JP bits provide the utmost comfort.
