Botanik's Cystiren is a combined nutritional supplement that contains standardized extracts of American cranberry (patented CystiCran complex) and Goldenrod, which together have a positive effect on the function of the urinary tract and excretory system. Action:
The American cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) - it has a valuable effect - the anti-adhesion effect on the bacterium E.coli (the main cause of cystitis). In the last few years, it has been conclusively proven that this effect is due to a specific type of proanthocyanidins, called type C, found so far only in it. This is the reason that in 2004, it was protected by AFSSA as the only fruit that is a means that reduces the attachment of E. coli to the walls of the urinary tract. The virulence of a number of pathogenic E.coli strains is due to the adhesins they express, the so-called P-Fimbriae, through which they attach to specific receptors on the uroepithelial cells, because the immune system does not recognize E.coli as pathogenic. In contrast, type A proanthocyanidins unmistakably recognize E.coli, by preventing its binding to the receptors on the surface of the urinary tract. By inhibiting this connection, the bacteria fail to attach and are "carried" out of the body through the urine. Unlike the antibiotic, which acts on a macro level (not so selectively), type A proanthocyanidins act much more precisely. They destroy only the connection of the pathogenic bacteria with the receptors, without destroying the entire E.coli population, some strains of which are part of the beneficial microflora in the intestines. Goldenrod, Solidago Virgaurea (5% flavonoids) - is a European herb known and used since Antiquity. It is known to be rich in various flavonoids and anthocyanidins, the synergism of which is responsible for its healing effect. It has a diuretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. The efficacy of Goldenrod extract has been proven by a clinical study. 745 female patients between 12 and 94 years of age with pronounced dysuria were studied. A 14-day treatment with Goldenrod extract, 380 mg, 3 times/day was carried out. In 69.2% of cases, a significant reduction in pain was observed, as well as relief of other symptoms of cystitis. In addition, false urges to urinate have also decreased in frequency.

Antispasmodic effect – the flavonoids in Goldenrod can affect smooth muscle relaxation. It can be said that this effect is due to the inhibition of protein kinase C. It acts as a competitive antagonist of acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors, which leads to relaxation of the smooth muscles of the bladder.

Antibacterial effect – The antibacterial activity of Goldenrod has been tested in vitro against urogenital bacterial pathogens (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis). Antifungal effect - A series of studies have shown that isolated triterpenoid saponins from Goldenrod have pronounced activity against some Candida species (Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida krusei, Candida parapsilosis, Candida pseudotropicalis, Candida guilliermondi, Candida glabrata Cryptococcus neoformans).

Immunostimulating effect – An immunomodulatory effect has been found in the action of triterpene saponins and flavonoids in Goldenrod. They have been shown to induce macrophages and activate NK cells.

Standardized American Cranberry Extract (CystiCran 40% PACs) 45 mg
The standard daily dose of CISTIREN contains 72 mg of PACs
Standardized Goldenrod extract (5% flavonoids) 180 mg

Method of Use:
In acute conditions: Twice a day, two tablets Cystirene (minimum 7 days).
In chronic conditions: Twice one tablet (minimum 3 months).
How to take: With a large glass of water, on an empty stomach. It can be taken by children over 7 years old, pregnant and lactating women.

Contraindications are not observed in the indicated dose. Keep out of the reach of small children. Do not exceed the daily dose. It is not a substitute for a varied diet.
