Still in ORIGINAL SHRINK-WRAP (opened). Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Double LP. Cover looks great; a couple creases near edges; slight discoloration with darker discoloration spots and no scuffing (front/back); shrink is split near top-right on front. Inner-gate can't be evaluated due to shrink. Inner-sleeves are original (MCA logo). Spine is easy-to-read (text is crooked) with very mild-wear. Little shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge; minor wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and a few divots. Black rainbow label. (Not a cut-out.)
This out-of-print two-LP set only has 20 performances and does not list the personnel or recording dates, but it does contain several fine pictures and offers one a good all-around overview of Jimmy Dorsey's commercial recordings. Of the 20 songs, all but four have vocals, mostly by Helen O'Connell and Bob Eberly, with five being vocal duets. Not much is heard from the leader, but it was the singers that made Jimmy Dorsey's Orchestra one of the most popular in the early '40s, so those listeners who enjoyed the hits should pick this one up; it includes Tangerine, Brazil, Green Eyes and Besame Mucho.
