About the Artist: Anita Cajero (born 1965) is from the Jemez Pueblo, NM, and works in clay as well as jewelry. A member of the Sun Clan, she is a fourth generation potter who first exhibited at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1985. Clay and slips used are native to the Jemez area; Cajero uses these along with volcanic ash to form her storyteller figures using a coil and pinch technique.
