The Tigers feasted on the Red Sox by a score of 18-6 with Eric King improving his record to 3-1 while Roger Clemens gave up 8 earned runs in only 1.1 innings of work.
The Bengals onslaught was led by home runs from Chet Lemon (3 hits) and Luis Salazar, 3 hits from Dave Bergman and Darrell Evans, and 2 hits apiece from Lou Whitaker, Alan Trammell, and Pat Sheriden.
The battered Red Sox got home runs from Todd Benzinger (2 hits) & Rich Gedman while Spike Owen, Dwight Evans and Larry Parrish had 2 hits each. Jim Rice added to his Cooperstown resume with 1 hit.
Condition is very good with a couple of creases.
