Translated from the Danish, this is the extremely rare first edition in English of Jorgen Landt's seminal study of the Faroe Islands (Denmark). Jorgen Landt (1751–1804) was a Danish priest, botanist and author, who published descriptions of the people and geography of the Faroe Islands.
9" x 6". Modern maroon marbled deluxe leather boards with gilt spine titles. Maroon endpapers. Contains the fold-out map in the front and two copper engraved plates in the back, one of which is also a fold-out.
