Vintage original 11 x 14 in. US double-weight matte color photograph from the 1980s historical adventure drama, QUEST FOR FIRE, released in 1981 by Twentieth Century-Fox and directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, which takes place in prehistoric time when three tribesmen search for a new fire source.
The studio created a special set of oversized color photographs for this film, for which this is #2, that were taken by photographer Ernst Haas and feature a credit to him in the lower right corner. It is in very fine- condition as shown with a small diagonal crease on the top corners.
Provenance: The Hearst Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
Ron Perlman expected the film (which was his film debut) to be no better than campier prehistoric movies like 'One Million Years BC.' In his memoir, he confessed that this caused him to be unnecessarily rude to Jean-Jacques Annaud during their first meeting. Rather than take offense, Annaud was fascinated by Perlman's candor, and (after initially hating each other early in filming) the two would become close friends.
