This OEM key blank is for various pre-1989 models of motor vehicles (such as the 1982-1983 Accord and every model from 1984 to 1988) by Honda. It is a new-old-stock item. As such, some or all pieces of this stock may bear random and negligible marks (i.e. nicks and discoloration). Apart from that--every key blank is in excellent, serviceable condition. Please, refer to the photos. Note the HB marking on its head. The HB key blank is 4mm shorter than the 1989 redesign (marked as HD for every model, other than the Civic; and marked as HE for the Civic). The reason for the redesign is that Honda incorporated a “Push To Lock” feature on its 1989 vehicles. In order to function, it required the key blank to be 4mm longer. The drawback is that, if you were to use a 1988 key in a 1989 vehicle, the key will become lodged in the ignition. For that reason, DO NOT INSERT THIS KEY BLANK INTO THE IGNITION OF A 1989 VEHICLE.
