Vintage original 47 x 63 in. French grande poster from the 1950s Italian-Spanish co-production adventure drama, THE TYRANT OF CASTILE (Sfida al re di Castiglia), released in 1963 and directed by Ferdinando Baldi. In the late 14th century, Pedro the Cruel is justifiably deposed from the throne of Castile by his bastard brother and usurper Enrique de Trastamare, who is supported by the French. The English support Pedro solely because he is "legitimate" and consequently blood, death and misery ravage the kingdoms of Spain.
As indicated near the center of the right border, the colorful artwork was designed by Jean Mascii. Unrestored and folded as originally issued, it is in very fine condition as shown.
