Perhaps this artist - Lev Tchistovsky 1902-1969. Lev Smagardovich Tchistovsky was born in Pskov in 1902, studied painting at the Leningrad Academy of Arts, but left the USSR in 1925, emigrating first to Italy, where he studied painting at the Roman Academy of Fine Arts, and then to Paris. But Lev Tchistovsky has always remained an adherent of the classical style. The main theme of the artist has always been the female nature, in the image of which he was a true genius of his time. Lev Tchistovsky paintings were in constant demand in art galleries in France, England, the USA and other countries. The artist's talent was appreciated not only in the West, but also in the homeland. Thus, his paintings can be seen in the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg and in the Moscow Tretyakov Gallery. Most of his works are still exhibited in museums in France, where he lived most of his life and died in 1969, or belong to private collectors.
