This is a Rare Vintage Hassan Heshmat (Egypt 1920-2006) Art Deco Molded Porcelain Figurine titled "Warmness" dating to the 1960's. Vintage Porcelain Figurine WARMNESS by renowned Egyptian Sculptor Hassan Heshmat RARE Hard to Find piece. Hassan Heshmat (Egyptian, 1920 - 2006) was a well known artist who studied and graduated from the Porcelain Academy in Germany and is most well known for his sculpture. Most of his works are large scale public works but early in his career, he made some small scale, hand-cast pieces like this one for homes and offices. His work received wide spread attention just before his death in 2006 when some of his art was attacked by someone who embraced Islamic Aniconism as they were against the representation of the figure in art. This piece is in excellent condition, no scratches, chips, or cracks. Light crazing commensurate with age. Approximate dimensions: 5" tall x 5.5" long x 2" wide. A slightly larger version of this figurine was recently offered for $4900 .
