In the first story, which introduces John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, Travolta is required to take out gangland boss Ving Rhame's wife Uma Thurman and keep her entertained for an evening, during which she overdoses on drugs.
In the second we meet seasoned boxer Bruce Willis, who was supposed to take a dive in a fight but double-crossed Rhames to make a killing in side-bets; he is just about to leave town with wife Maria de Medeiros, who is waiting for him in a temporarily rented apartment, when he discovers she forgot to pack a watch which has been in his family for three generations, and he decides to return to their vacated home to retrieve it.
In the third story, Travolta accidently shoots Phil Lamarr in the back of his and Jackson's car and Rhames sends The Wolf (Harvey Keitel) to clean up the mess before Tarantino's wife can come home from work and throw a fit about the bloody corpse in the garage.
The three episodes are framed by an adolescent resturant love scene between Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer, who spontaneously decide to rob the resturant and its customers -- unaware that the clients include the two hit-men. There is also an extraordinairy detour towards the end of the Willis tale.
