This is a species similar to the common Thimble cactus. These clustered cacti have clustered spines and produce many offsets. The produce small flowers that are a pink to creamy yellow and they bloom in the spring time. They thrive in well draining soil and can be kept indoors or outdoors. If in doors best in south facing windows and if you keep it outdoors put it where it will get some shade in the peak of the afternoon sunny hours. They must not be exposed to prolonged dampness and sitting water
