Earrings are the most recognizable and widespread female ornament on the Adriatic. They have always been made of precious materials, most often gold, by the precise and painstaking work of professional master goldsmiths. Konavle earrings, Verižice, were the first on the list of items that wealthy young men in the Dubrovnik area gave as a gift to their chosen one - twice: during the engagement they gave small Verižice, and on the eve of the church wedding large ones with pearls.
 

Young women and girls would then dance the traditional linjo dance to the sounds of lyric at the wedding. Already widely known for their beauty and slenderness, valuable jewelry further beautified them. According to custom, the rule was that small earrings were worn by unmarried women, while large ones meant that the woman was busy. Today, Verižice are traditionally part of the Konavle folk costume, but they are also worn at other times. Due to the elegance and grace they add to the face, nowadays Verižice are a favorite all over Croatia. With the pleasure that this authentic part of the Croatian heritage has found its natural way to a large number of modern owners, today Konavle, modeled on ancient originals, we produce in three sizes, gold and silver.
