F Herder 4 inch kitchen knife. All purpose utility knife.

Rare old model in unused condition.

Comes with original plastic case.

Blade is fully forged from the finest German high carbon steel. F Herder knives gained a reputation for very high quality steel which keeps a sharp edge for a long time but is easy to sharpen and very durable. Blade and bolster are forged in one piece. High carbon steel is not stainless and needs more care to avoid rust but provides better cutting performance than stainless.

The handle is made from one single piece of natural wood reinforced with a steel ring.

Knife is unused with factory edge. 

This special version has a shorter handle than the standard knife. The handle is 2 7/8" long (7.5 cm)

Blade length - 4" (10 cm)

Blade has light carbon spots from storage but this is normal for this type of knife.

Great knife from one of the oldest and most respected knife makers. Made in Solingen, Germany since 1727.
