At the Boston Art Museum in the United States holding a lot of Japanese art, three books of Katsushika Hokusai's handwriting paintings were discovered. The so-called "Boston painting book" that was contained in an old box that sleeps in the collection room of the museum is presumed to have been bound-edited as it is, as a picture book of a picture book planned as a sequel to "Hokusai Manga". In the woodblock printing at the time, the paintings were lost at the time of creating the woodblocks, but because the publication was not realized due to some circumstances, the Boston painting book was supposed to be left as it was. This book is the first book which faithfully reproduced the whole story of this vision "Hokusai manga" as original.
