by Marjorie Ainsborough Decker
Grand Junction, Co.: C.M.G. Productions, (1980).
First edition, first printing.
Illustrated by Glenna Fae Hammond & Marjorie Ainsborough Decker
Signed and inscribed by the author to the front end-paper.
Decker reveals her enthusiasm for hot air balloon riding in her inscription with "happy landings" to a "fellow balloonist".
Favorite nursery rhymes are cleverly adapted and original rhyming tales are added, all with Christian themes and messages in this charmingly illustrated sequel to THE CHRISTIAN MOTHER GOOSE BOOK.
Mrs. Decker, who describes herself as ''an enthusiastic Christian and an ardent student of the Bible,'' turns the ''spiritual side'' of Mother Goose into books that will teach ''the little ones the love of God, without which no child is complete.''
A deluxe gift-able production with a sturdy, striking color illustrated binding, quality stock paper, and engaging illustrations on every page, one-thirds of the art is in color, the remaining two thirds are in black-and-white and begging to be colored by a young one. (Although the b&w illustrations are endearing just as they are).
Fine in color illustrated boards with a white sky background; in a very nearly fine (a hint of rub-wear to the upper spine edge) color illustrated dust jacket that mirrors the book covers, except for having a blue sky background.
