This young plant ranges from 2.5 to 6 inches and ships in a 3-inch-deep pot to keep your shipping costs at a minimum and to allow it to grow to maturity under your green thumb. The Lattarula honey, or Italian Honey fig, is a compact variety that produces medium fruit that's sweet and delicious. With medium to large very sweet fruit and an excellent breba and fall crop it's hard to go wrong with this guy. While rumored to be able to survive lower than our recommended zones of 7 through 10 it can be grown outside of these zones in the warmer months and brought indoors during the winter. Wonder if your figs are ripe? The fruit stem should be hanging/drooping from the branch and the fruit should be soft. Still not sure? If you pick an unripe fig it will snap off and ooze white liquid indicating it is not ripe. Fig trees can grow for a very long time so be sure to always plan out where you want them to stay or plant them in a container where they will be smaller and you can move them around
Average mature height: 15-20 feet
Light: Full sun
Self-pollinating? Yes
Soil: Well-drained. Will not tolerate excessively wet soil, but needs ample moisture during fruiting.
Zones: 7-10
