This is a art pottery salt and pepper set, or a "sale e pepe" set as they say in Tuscany. Majolica pottery, hand thrown clay with a glossy, mottled, creamy glazed finish. This set is 2-3/4" tall, 1-1/2" wide at base and 2-1/4" at the widest. The pomegranate is a traditional design in Tuscany, and these have a unique hand painted design. The pepper has a whole fruit and the salt has a open, halved fruit. Lovely golds, greens and pale blue. Perfect addition to table or kitchen. The rubber seals are intact and fit tightly. In good used condition-no visable signs of use. All my items are sanitary and come from my clean, smoke free home.
