THE SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS
by Charles A. Lindbergh
Charles Scribners Sons, 1953
Condition: VG+ to NF in VG- dj

A very early printing of Lindbergh's famous chronicle of his historic first solo transatlantic flight. The unclipped front jacket flap shows the $5 price (so it's a first edition), the copyright page lacks the "A" (so it's not a 1st printing), the back cover lacks a blind-stamp (so it's not a Book of the Month Club edition), and the year (1953) on the title page matches the date on the copyright page (so it's an early printing). There are illustrations, including illustrated endpapers, and an appendix containing a halftone section. The book has minimal external wear (mainly modest wear on corners) and a few small light page corner creases. The mostly white pages are clean and unmarked. The binding and hinges are strong. The jacket has moderate edge and corner wear, but is overall still attractive.
